So mastodon requires a nonzero amount of storage in order to run `tootctl media remove`. And, I had zero storage left in my vps so I had to do some of the cleaning with a shell script. I had to use `find` because I couldn't find out the directory structure used by rails...
here's the script. `find` makes it really slow, but I just let it run for a few minutes until I had some space in my instance to run the proper command.
mastodon_production -c \
file_file_name != '' and
remote_url != '';
grep '[0-9a-zA-Z]*\.[a-zA-Z]*' -o --line-buffered |
xargs -L 1 -I NAME find -name NAME |
xargs -L 1 sudo rm -vf
